What real boxing coaching looks like

Most so-called “boxing” classes in Miami are cardio-kickboxing dressed up in gloves. KO Zone is different — our boxing program is run by coaches who've cornered amateur and professional fighters. The fundamentals are taught the way they're taught in legitimate boxing gyms: stance, footwork, jab, cross, hook, defense, head movement, and the patient construction of combinations.

Bag work builds your power and rhythm. Mitt work builds your timing and accuracy. Pad work with a partner builds your eyes. And once you're ready — and only when you're ready — controlled sparring lets you put it all together with a live, thinking opponent. The progression is built around your safety and skill development, not around looking impressive on Instagram.

We coach the cardio side too. Boxing is the most demanding cardio sport on the planet — three-minute rounds, 20-second jab pressure, recovery while moving. Members who started for the workout end up legitimately learning to box. That's the goal.

Common Questions

Asked & answered.

Do I need experience to start boxing at KO Zone?

No. Day-one fundamentals classes are designed for first-time boxers. You'll learn the basic stance and punches in your first session.

What gear do I need?

Hand wraps and boxing gloves are recommended (we have loaner gear if needed). Athletic clothing, supportive shoes, water. Mouthguard once you start sparring.

When can I start sparring?

When your coach says you're ready — typically 2-3 months into consistent training, depending on your fundamentals and control. We don't throw beginners into hard sparring.

Can I compete in amateur boxing through KO Zone?

Yes. We coordinate USA Boxing registration, sparring schedules, fight-camp prep and corner work for Florida amateur events including Golden Gloves.

Do you offer women's boxing classes?

Our boxing program has a strong women's contingent. Female training partners are available across most class times. Inclusive, no-ego room.

How does boxing pair with the other disciplines at KO Zone?

Boxing pairs naturally with Muay Thai (adds kicks/elbows/clinch), MMA (cage striking), and BJJ (full martial-arts skill set). Most members train at least two disciplines.
