Kids BJJ (5+)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for kids — age-appropriate technique, controlled rolling, real submission grappling. Anti-bullying powerhouse.

Real martial arts for kids in Miami — not glorified daycare. KO Zone's kids program (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo) builds discipline, confidence, focus, fitness and real technique. Ages 5 and up. Belt progression based on actual mastery, not on participation.
Most kids martial-arts programs in Miami are built around participation trophies and quick belt progressions to keep parents paying. KO Zone's kids program is different — it's built on the real martial-arts curriculum (BJJ and Taekwondo) taught the way it's taught to adults, scaled for age-appropriate learning. When your kid earns a stripe at KO Zone, they earned it.
BJJ teaches kids that smaller, smarter humans can control bigger ones — a profound lesson that translates directly into anti-bullying confidence. Taekwondo teaches focus, respect, traditional discipline and explosive kicking technique. Together they form a complete kids martial-arts education: ground game and stand-up, control and explosive power, eastern tradition and modern grappling.
The classes are structured around what 5-12 year olds actually respond to — short technique drills, plenty of physical activity, games that secretly drill movement skills, real instruction on technique. Kids who train consistently at KO Zone become more focused students, more confident kids, and more capable people.

Olympic-style striking, traditional forms, belt progression. Outstanding for discipline and explosive kicks.
Real progression based on technical mastery and time — not on monthly belt-test fees. Earned belts mean something.
Kids who can control a peer without hurting them never need to fight. That's the BJJ + Taekwondo combination.
Class times that work with school + work schedules. Parents can train adult classes during kids' classes.
Local Florida BJJ tournaments and Taekwondo point-sparring events. Optional. Coach-supervised. Outstanding confidence-builder.

5 years old. Younger students typically aren't ready for the structure or focus required to make class productive. 5+ is when kids genuinely benefit from real martial-arts training.
BJJ is grappling — ground game, submissions, control. Taekwondo is striking — kicks, forms, traditional discipline. Many kids train both. We recommend starting with whichever appeals more and adding the other if they want to.
When taught right, yes — and KO Zone teaches it right. Kids classes are heavily supervised, technique is taught with safety as priority one, and contact intensity is age-appropriate.
No. Competition is 100% optional. Many of our long-term kids never compete — they train for the discipline, fitness and confidence.
